Adding a museum visit to your trip is a sure way to make your trip a memorable one. Especially when the museum is really unique. Here are our favorite ones to add to your next trip:
What: Museo Lavazza
Where: Turin Italy
If you simply can’t get by without your daily dose of coffee, this is going to be a must on your next trip. “A sensory journey through the world coffee,” as Lavazza puts it, the museum is divided into 5 different themes, among them The Factory, which teaches visitors everything about coffee production, and The Universe, which is 360-degree interactive. If you needed another reason to visit Italy, add this to your list.

What: Museum Yves Saint Laurent
Where: Marrakech, Morocco
A museum entirely devoted to the work of the legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, celebrating the designer’s Moroccan legacy, which also includes the neighboring 12 acre Jardin Majorelle, and the Berber Museum, which opened in 2011. There is a YSL museum in Paris, but the one in Marrakech is unique in its architecture which is guaranteed to leave you in awe. Inside, you can spend a good half a day in the 400 sqm permanent exhibition space, the temporary exhibition space, a research library with over 6,000 volumes, a 150-seat auditorium, and a bookstore and terrace café.
What: The Polish Vodka Museum
Where: Warsaw, Poland
500 years of vodka have earned their place in the hall of fame, or at least – this museum. Did you know that Polish Vodka is on the list of Protected Geographical Indications, or that January 13 is Polish Vodka Day? There’s a lot more to find out in this museum, located in historic distillation and rectification plant.

What: Museum of Ice Cream
Where: San Francisco, California
Here’s a place where you don’t really have to bring your kids along, but your own creative mind, childhood memories and delight glands. The museum’s mission is “to unite and inspire the world through imagination”. It was born under the premise that ice cream is a universal symbol of joy, and a transportive vehicle for anyone’s imagination. Who doesn’t want to jump into a pool of sprinkles (which holds which holds over 100 million custom-designed sprinkles by the way), or visit a magical candy garden? We’re happy, inspired – and hungry!
What: The Torture Museum
Where: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
If the previous museum was about ice cream, this one is about I scream. Painful doesn’t even begin to describe it. It wasn’t so long ago that your weekly idea of family entertainment was going to the city center and watch someone being tortured. The Torture Museum features over 40 instruments of punishment from different parts of Europe, from the inquisition chair to the guillotine. Make sure to skip breakfast that day.
