05.11.2024
Whether you’re travelling with your family or exploring your wanderlust alone, odds are your destination has a theme park that seems tailor-made just for you.
From intense rollercoasters to cultural exhibitions or even magical and enchanting shows, the following theme parks are ideal stops for your next trip. They can create thrilling experiences and everlasting memories that elevate your stay to the next level.
Magic Kingdom (Bay Lake, United States)
No discussion about theme parks would be complete without mentioning at least one of the many Disney destinations. However, none of the countless options available is more relevant than the Magic Kingdom within the Walt Disney World Resort.
With the emblematic Cinderella Castle standing tall and proud at its centre, Magic Kingdom is the world’s most visited theme park, as well as one of the largest. It comprises six lands with distinctive attractions and appeal: Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Fantasyland.
Europa Park (Rust, Germany)
Although it has taken a backseat to Disneyland Paris, Europa Park remains one of the staple theme parks in Europe and one of the twenty most visited across the world.
Extending over 95 hectares, Europa Park features over 100 attractions divided into 20 themed areas, many representing different European countries and cultures. It also features fairytale landscapes and seasonal events, including a charming Christmas ambience during winter.
EPCOT (Bay Lake, Florida)
The cultural centre of Walt Disney World, Epcot, was founded as a “permanent world’s fair,” and it’s dedicated to showcasing the beauty, ingenuity, and marvel of humanity as a whole, including cultural manifestations and technological advancement.
After being renovated in the last few years, EPCOT now features the new areas of World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery alongside its emblematic World Showcase. Most attractions aim to explore the past and potential future through the senses, making EPCOT a valuable and fun learning experience.
Tivoli Gardens (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Although it might seem small and modest compared to other parks on the list, Tivoli Gardens in Denmark is one of the oldest functioning amusement parks in the world, and it remains a top-rated destination.
Tivoli has extensive gardens to enjoy a picnic, dozens of restaurants with diverse food options, and over 25 amusement park rides, boasting a whimsical beauty that inspired Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairytales. It also hosts music shows every day and has seasonal events to match.
Sanrio Puroland (Tokyo, Japan)
The only indoor theme park on this list, Sanrio Puroland, is also known as Hello Kitty Land, which reveals its whimsical and charming nature.
Dedicated exclusively to the line of Sanrio characters of which Hello Kitty remains queen, it features plenty of rides featuring the likes of Ms. Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and many more endearing mascots.
Event-wise, Sanrio Puroland features parades, stage shows, countless shows, and multiple restaurants—all boasting the same sweet energy.
Universal Studios Hollywood (Universal City, United States)
Universal Studios continues its long streak of success as a film studio and a theme park, and the Hollywood location is the first and most emblematic of all.
It is divided into two areas—the Upper Lot and the Lower Lot—and encompasses countless rides, attractions, and play areas. The most popular are The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which features five attractions, and Jurassic World: The Ride.
However, the must-visit event occurs during October, when Halloween Horror Nights features multiple haunted houses inspired by the studio’s many horror franchises.

There are countless amusement parks all over the world. From big to small, they all have a charm that makes them someone’s favourite destination.
While these are must-visit attractions in their respective cities, don’t forget to research the options available during each vacation—you might be surprised.
