June is the best time to celebrate! With its fresh summer vibes and beautiful springtime scenery still here, there’s no better way to enjoy this great month than by travelling and celebrating it – and by celebrating we mean REALLY celebrating!
Here are five festivals worldwide to help you get into summer mode and say goodbye to spring:
NOS PRIMAVERA SOUND
Known as one of THE BEST indie festivals in Europe, the “Sounds of Spring Festival” brings together current indie and electronic music ensembles. Hosted in the beautiful city of Porto, Portugal, the festival is another great excuse to visit this beautiful city: to walk its bridges, enjoy its stunning riviera, visit the local cathedrals such as São Francisco Church, hangout in its picturesque cafes and drink some local port wine.

WORLD CLUB DOME
World Club Dome is one of Europe’s biggest EDM (Electronic Dance Music) festivals. It features state-of-the-art visual sets that transform football stadiums into the ‘world’s biggest dance club’. The Festival hosts the biggest names in the EDM, amongst this years contributors you can find: David Guetta, Marshmello and Armin van Buuren.

With more than 4,000 artists exhibiting, ART BASEL is considered one of the most important events of contemporary art on the calendar. With its fairly new extensions in Miami and Hong Kong, ART BASEL is a driving force in promoting artists and in shaping the world market of art, through collaborations with galleries and artists’ agencies.

MIDNIGHT SUN FILM FESTIVAL
Almost 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle is where this five-day-and-night celebration of new cinema takes place.
Founded in 1986 by Finnish filmmakers and the Municipality of Sodankylä, located in the heart of Lapland, the festival is a mix of silent gems, contemporary Finnish films, recent festival hits and box-office classics, screened around the clock on these five days of endless daylight. A dip in the nearby river or a refreshing sauna experience are also part of the “to do list”, for those attending this uniquely located festival.

ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL
Get a real taste of the Caribbean at St. Kitts Music Festival.
This magical extravaganza of music is hosted each year during the last week of June in the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Blending Soul, Soca, Jazz, R&B, Calypso, Meringue, Zouk, Cadence, Dancehall, Reggae, Gospel and Blues, into a potpourri of musical delights.
